Northfleet Dog Obedience is the culmination of my life with animals. I have come full circle with my passion for dogs. As a very small child in the Midwest, my parents and I lived with my grandparents who had a breeding/training kennel devoted to various types of sporting dogs. From my grandpa I learned a love and “feel” for our canine friends as I spent my first years hanging onto the ears of his highly accomplished hunting dogs. | |||
| Horses also played a large part in my youth. By the very young age of eleven I was competing professionally and later received experience as an instructor at our family-owned equestrian academy. | ||||
| Settling down in Oregon as an adult with my own family was made complete by a renewal of my involvement with dogs. For over a decade I was a nationally recognized breeder and exhibitor of champion German Shepherd Dogs. I trained others’ show dogs as well as my own, and eventually began taking in family pets that were in dire need of some social skills. Gradually, Northfleet German Shepherds evolved into Northfleet Dog Obedience as I phased out my successful breeding and show career in favor of the work I truly love…instructing dogs and their owners to effectively communicate and co-exist through love and understanding. |

For years we have devoted ourselves to this
endeavor and it is all about “family”. My
husband, Daryl, is in charge of feeding,
exercising, and pampering. When our daughter is
home from college, she assists in many ways. I
alone have the privilege of training the dogs
and owners to enrich YOUR family. However, the element that truly gives me a sense of warmth and tradition is observing our sons’ many little ones running all over our property while sharing it with a variety of dogs and learning a familiarity with these wonderful animals from their grandparents…..full circle!!! |
